Does This Count As A Post?

Oh, look! It's a post saying I'm not posting! The laziness, I just can't escape from it. I just wanted to put a few words up, since it's been last Wednesday since I posted and then it was just a picture. My weekend started Thursday at noon - I loaded Maggie in the van and went to visit my parents and my sister's family. My brother actually came to visit too, so that was nice. But, I just haven't got back into the swing of things, blogfully speaking. So, today I'm just going to leave you with some words of wisdom - actually, a definition - from my Snickers wrapper:

Nougatocity - a heightened yet fleeting state of accomplishment that makes you realize how unbelievably unmotivated you normally are.

"Fleeting," "unmotivated," Snickers, you know me so well.

Blog Talk and Pictures

Ok, I did it. I added the the 'follower' box to my blog. The reason I haven't done it until now? I am very sensitive and seeing just 1 follower - my sister - in the little box for weeks and weeks, would have just done me in. So, how about it everyone? Want to follow me? Give my self esteem a little boost, pretty please? (Thanks Ali and Eve!)

My intention for the layout of this blog, was to have cute girly stuff in the pics to the left, and my own everyday pics on the right. I still like that, but I'm just soooo lazy about updating them. So, today I'm going to post a bunch of everyday pics . Instead of boring you with my usual Weekend Recap (I ate food, I watched movies, etc.), I will be boring you with random pictures. You're welcome.

Even though I consider myself an X Phile. I finally got around to watching the latest X Files movie over the weekend. It was like an extra long show, so I liked it. By the way, there is a lot of naked Mulder dolls on ebay. Wonder what's up with that?

My sister's house - where Mulder is forced to socialize with the likes of Scarlett O'Hara.

My old cheerleading shoes. Maggie chewed on them when she was a puppy, but I'm still not throwing them away.

Painted my nails over the weekend. OPI - Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not. I hope you can tell it's purple. I'm not great at swatching.

Billy just got finished taking the fuel tank out, while I....sit.

My youngest nephew. On cupcake # ?.

My sister and Howard, both giving Lexie kisses.

My oldest nephew. Chillin' on his new bike.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! And don't forget to follow me! I'll beg if I have to!

Beer Bread

It's Food Friday!

Hmmm, what should I do with that one lonely can of beer in the fridge? Make beer bread, of course! I can't even tell you how impressed I am with myself whenever I make this. I always think of bread making as difficult - kneading, pounding down with fists, covered in a corner to rise. This is the easiest bread recipe ever, and I love it.

3 cups self rising flour
3 tbs sugar
1 12 oz can of beer (I think the light taste better)

Mix all ingredients together. Pour into a greased loaf pan (or you could use a casserole dish, and I just used some cooking spray). Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Pour melted butter over the top. I melted a stick of butter but didn't use all of it (I did use it after the bread was done, though, on the slices). Bake until golden brown - about 10 or 15 minutes.

Enjoy!

A Short Weekend Recap With Birthday Pics

I think I'll fill this post up with pictures because I did absolutely nothing interesting this weekend. Friday, we grabbed a pizza after work and just flipped channels on the tv. Saturday, Billy picked up Krispy Kreme and then I basically followed him around while he did car stuff. I planned on going on a date, but we ate leftover pizza really late and weren't hungry, so there went that idea. We ended up doing grocery shopping at 9 that night. I was a little irritated that the rest of the city was doing the same. I may not have a life, but doesn't anyone else? Go do something, instead of making all the lines long at Walmart! We watched Flash of Genius that night (Greg Kinnear invented intermittent windshield wipers and sued Ford).

Sunday, we had Dixie Cafe for dinner. I always have to ask what the vegetable of the day is, because if it is sweet potato casserole then I know what I'm having for dessert. I smear butter on top and sprinkle with sugar, and when the top half is gone, repeat. Yum. After Desperate Housewives, we watched The Happening. I wanted to like it since my boyfriend Marky Mark is in it, but it wasn't really happening for me. Ha, ha! See what I did there?! You know, I've had to learn to be ok with Billy falling asleep during movies. At first it was annoying, and now instead of asking him if he's ready to watch a movie, I just ask him if he's ready to go to sleep.

So it was the usual weekend - stuff myself full of food and watch movies. Hope everyone else's weekend was a little more exciting!

Apple Pie Filling

It's Food Friday!

I don't like apple pie, but I like apple pie filling. I know it doesn't even make sense, and I have no explanation for it at all. And the fact that I like cheddar cheese on it? I surprise myself sometimes.

2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1 inch chunks
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbs flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 tbs water

Place apple chunks in a medium saucepan. Mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and mix well. Stir over medium high heat until apples begin to release juice. Reduce heat, add vanilla and water, and heat until apples are soft.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today is my birthday!

I'm not sure what all I'll be doing today, but I have already warned Billy that he's going to have to do whatever I want. That may even include watching Twilight at the dollar theater. I'll have pics later, including pictures of my nephews party over the weekend.

In the meantime, Kristin tagged me for a purse tag. I've been seeing this around, and it's been a lot of fun seeing everyone's purses and the stuff that's in them.

This is my Coach black patent leather Bleecker tote. Retails for $398, I got it for $140. Normally I don't even have that much stuff with me, since I sometimes switch to my swingpack or even my wristlet. Also, besides being a Coachie, I'm a bit of a Marc Jacobs fan too. The sunglasses and star keychain are MJ. See the pink keychain thing? Love it. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.

Consider yourself tagged because I seriously want to see everyone else's!

Just For Me

It's Food Friday!

I love it when companies do things specifically for me. A few months ago Coach came out with some gorgeous sling backs named Angela. And they must know I love calla lillies, since they came out with some cute accessories with a calla lily design. So, I'm pretty sure that Starbucks had me in mind with these 2 drinks.

I was a little disappointed in the peppermint mocha, it wasn't as...intense? I don't know, the peppermint flavor was just ok, but the mocha itself was lacking something. The raspberry one, though - delicious. They're a limited time only kind of thing, and I almost missed out. Target has already started marking them down to $3.48.

Has anyone else tried them? What do you think?

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Recap

Seriously? The weekend is over? I just need a week to lay around the house. Actually, this coming weekend I'm crossing my fingers that I get 4 days off in a row. My oldest nephew turns 6 on Friday, so I'll definitely be going to my hometown. Can't wait to see him open presents. I also can't wait for cupcakes.

Let's see...Saturday was really relaxing. I don't know why I think that, because I did a whole lot of cleaning that morning. Maybe because I wasn't on a time schedule or something. The only time specific thing was to go somewhere to eat with Billy before he left for "band practice." So, we went to the Chinese buffet place next to JCPenneys. After we ate, I got a cute top. Normally, I really don't like clothes shopping because nothing ever looks good, but I went with a specific look in mind and got lucky. I if wasn't lazy, I would have posted a pic.

Dropped Billy off and then went to Target and Walmart. Don't ask me how I managed to spend over $100 and didn't even get any food. Actually, I got makeup - $12 and a new slimshaper - $12, and I got the boys their birthday presents - $40. So, that's not too bad at all. And the dog food, cat food, and 2 bags of litter added up. Those animals need to start chipping in already.

And it snowed Saturday! It was pretty. And since I was driving around, I'm glad it wasn't sticking to the roads.

Sunday was work, as usual. Went to Burger King to try those Burger Shots. They were cute little things. Pretty good. Definitely better than White Castle or Krystal's. Anyone else tried them? Watched Billy work on the Z car. I almost had to pump up a tire, but thankfully the pump was broken. Watched Stepbrothers and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Funny.

What do you think of this swimsuit?

It's from Land's End, I think $58. Why on earth are swimsuits so expensive? Anyway, I'm never completely happy with any of them, but I like the way this one is adjustable on the sides so I can wear it longer. I think that I might like that. Sears has a navy one I can try on, maybe I'll order it in black and white (since I have about 3 pairs of black bottoms) if it fits good.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
